Hooded Girl from the New 52 (week 1)

So the Hooded Girl (or The Strange Woman) from the splash page in Flashpoint #5 is appearing in every issue of the New Rejiggered 52. I snapped her appearances in the 9 titles I picked up this week and also dug around (www.bleedingcool.com) and found the rest of the appearances. So far she has shown up 15 times. Check them out.

Above is the mysterious first appearance of the Hooded Girl from Flashpoint #5 who is talking about the merging of three worlds; which I believe are meant to be DC, Vertigo, and Wildstorm.

Her first appearance in the "New Rejiggered 52" is in the stands of the football game. This book is set in the past which not only makes the Hooded Girl's appearances span great distances, but also time.

This one was from Action Comics #1 which is based before Justice League. So, this title is maybe ten years in the past and the Hooded Girl is in crowd on the train that is being derailed toward the end of the book.

Here she is in the crowd at the hospital in Animal Man #1 after we see Animal Man's eyes bleeding.

This one was tricky to find in Batgirl #1. It is at the end as the villain shoves the guy out of the hospital window.

She appears standing in a crowd of onlookers half way through Detective Comics #1

In Green Arrow #1 the Hooded Girl seems to be playing peek-a-boo with the readers instead of being in the background just watching.

The Hooded Girl pops up at the end of Hawk & Dove #1 to watch a group of guys get attack by a zombie thing.

Peek-a-boo again in Justice League International #1 about half way through the book.

Stormwatch #1 has the Hooded Girl watching Apollo escape.

In Swamp Thing #1 she pops in to watch Alec Holland talk with his buddy at a construction site early on in the title.

Here are the Hooded Girl's appearances in the titles I didn't pick up this week:

Who is she, and why is she appearing everywhere and anytime? We will just have to wait to find out.

  1. Out of the 7 books I read, I was only able to spot her in 5. Couldn't find her in Batgirl or in Animal Man. It's like DC is having an Easter egg hunt in every issue. I like it!

  2. Batgirl took me the longest to find. I'm kinda having fun playing this "Where's The Hooded Girl?" game DC has introduced.

  3. I was really stumped on Batgirl. I was looking for crowds of people for her to hide in. It was really clever sticking her in a reflection. I looked at that page so many times looking for her and didn't see it.

  4. Eric,

It took me awhile to find the Hooded Girl in Batgirl too. My girlfriend tried too and couldn't find her. I prevailed though. :)

  6. The Hooded Girl from the 80's is a version of the Time Trapper. This Hooded Girl is different from what I understand.

Check out my post "Who is this Hooded Woman?"
