My random comic pick on The Comic Conspiracy: Episode 23 is Joker written by Brian Azzarello with art by Lee Bermejo and inks by Mick Gray. This hardcover graphic novel was released back in October of 2008 and it is said that The Dark Knight movie was somewhat based on this story. I picked this book up when it came out and I was blown away by Azzarello's writing and amazed by Bermejo's art. Overall these two are an amazing pair.
Joker is a story about the clown prince running amok in Gotham City after being released from Arkham Asylum told from the eyes of one of his loyal henchmen Jonny Frost. Many of Gotham City's eccentric characters make an appearance in the story; from The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face, Killer Croc and, of course "The Bat" himself. So, if you are looking for the dark, savage, and chaotic Joker that Heath Ledger portrayed perfectly in The Dark Knight then you have found it in this graphic novel.
