Welcome to Conspirator Brock.com! This little part of the internet is home to my random musings about comics, movies and other comic centric topics. Every Wednesday my pull list gets posted so you can compare, contrast, or complain about the books I pick up and read every week. Thank you for stopping by, and always feel free to leave comments.

DC 52 Video Presentation
I just finished watching the New DC Comics Video Presentation with Dan DiDio, Jim Lee, Grant Morrison, Bob Harras And Eddie Berganzaon at BleedingCool.com and I must say that it is an easy way to look at the September solicitations and listen to the DC executives pump up this massive Relaunch/Reboot/Ultimate whatever that is going to sweep the DC Universe in a few months. One thing I have a question about it is the fact that Dan Didio says that there are 52 new writers? There aren't 52 new writers. Most of the writers on these books are familiar to the DC titles and some are working on multiple books. So, how can you advertise 52 new writers? Nothing new in this video so you can skip it if you like, but I would watch it just to see Didio make a fool of himself when he says "52 great artists. 52 great writers. I just can't wait for everybody to see it," when there aren't. I am becoming a very negative comic book reader and I'm not sure if I like it...

A reboot was NOT necessary! If they think they can make money and to get other people to read and buy the books by changing everything, they are poorly mistaken!
ReplyDeleteTHEIR JUST GOING TO RUIN EVERYTHING AND MAKE SO MANY DC FANS LIKE MYSELF UPSET.
I HOPE TO GOD THERE WOULD BE SO MUCH BAD NEGATIVITY ON THIS STUPID RELAUNCH SO THEY CAN FIND A TO REVERSE THIS!
I just recently got back into comics after hearing the news that they were doing a reboot. I think as long as they make the stories good everything will be fine.
ReplyDeleteI am just disappointed in the renumbering of Action Comics and Detective Comics. Two titles that have been out since the late 1930's and until this relaunch were going to keep setting milestones in the world of comics. Alas they have fallen prey to the Number One makes money ploy. This is a shame.
